Successful first

Building 88 in the Spoorzone was on 27 May the vibrant scene of the very first Tilburg edition of Drinks, Pitches & Demos (DPD). What started as an exciting foray outside Eindhoven of the formula, grew in an hour and a half into convincing proof that Brabant has more than one innovation hub.

Some 60 visitors - from startup founders to curious students - immersed themselves in a series of 13 short and appealing pitches that together reflected the region's creativity and social commitment.

About DRINKs, Pitches & Demos

Drinks, Pitches & Demos (DPD) is an initiative of Gerard & Anton and Holland Innovative. A simple but powerful concept: getting together, sharing ideas, showing demos and meeting new people.

The Tilburg edition was the first pilot together with Startups for Society and it immediately tasted like more. The pitches and demos alternated in a relaxed setting, with plenty of time in between to catch up, meet new faces and have a drink. Feel like sharing something too? At the end, you could just spontaneously take the stage during the open mic.

DPD demonstrates the value of bringing together ideas, knowledge and contacts in an approachable way - often that is exactly where new opportunities arise.

personal pitches

A regular feature are the pitches: as many as 13 pitchers took to the stage. The variety was great. Student teams brought fresh ideas. Personal stories gave extra charge.

  • Lumicane presented a luminous blind cane, a literally life-saving innovation.
  • NutriHanna Helps expats deal with stress around food.
  • DeelscootMobiel focuses on better access to public spaces for mobility scooter users.
  • Breathing New Energy showed a shirt with sensors and vibration motors to improve breathing, especially in post-covid patients.
  • NextGen AI aims to give all children access to AI education and already reached six provinces.
  • Bright (iGEM) developed a bioluminescent sensor for faster endometriosis diagnosis.
  • 15 Minute Coaches helps students overcome phone aversion through short mentor calls.
  • LuckyPay  is a 'reverse tap' to give money as a gift.
  • Sadrana Helps companies with the complex European Accessibility Act.
  • Instantflows Simplifies research processes with AI.
  • The Cancer Advantage Pass To keep young people with cancer socially active.
  • HomeFlow Helps families reduce chaos through minimalism.
  • Social Housing Swap a platform for exchanging social housing via AI among themselves, helping to reduce waiting times.

In short: an inspiring series of pitches full of social and technological solutions.
